I totally agree with Jason's first paragraph. But you must also control the pot size to you level of stack committment, you really dont want to build a big pot if you dont have the chip stack to protect the pot you have built.
66-75% is a good amount, particularly if you have pre flop raised (3-4bb's) with a mid pocket say 1010 jj. and you got insta called.
I would check to the turn if I saw a rainbow, 3 unders, etc. I wouldnt check if I saw something like AQ10, KJ10, 8910, 789, AKQ, AQJ etc. If you even suspect for a second he had 2 overs and you see a potential draws, you need to find out where you are without appearing weak. So I would continue. The only expection to this for me is where the player i am against has been playing weak and I have now put him on an over pair, I chase that free card and check.
A lot of players place a lot of faith in AK AQ, not many place the same faith in a small pair. which I will call pre flop for the right price. I see 3 overs and cant get a freebie, easy fold.
