PostSubject: poker question   Fri Sep 17, 2010 12:51 pm

i was watching a hand unfold yesterday at my online poker room and three players were left to the river. the board cards were AKJ88

one player had A high the other had K high. the third player had nothing.

the computer said "player 1 wins $2.38 with A's and 8's, player 2 wins $1.50 with K's and 8's"

Why did both get paid? why didn't player 1 win all the money?

Player 2 and Player 3 must have had a side pot.

Player 2 would have won the pot between 2 and 3.

Player 1 would have won the pot between 1, 2 and 3.

Pretty self explanitory.
